6 Billion occurs as deliberately affirmative boardgame of space advocacy depicting human expansion in the Solar System. It was created by [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:David_Coutts David Coutts] within Australia.
A underlying assumption for the game is that man populations may tend to develop exponentially, & that there is a good deal of room inside [outer space] & super little room on Earth. Whereas exponential growth of human populations stimulates overpopulation if restricted to Globe, within space individual populations capable of perennial people doubling may assure a long-long-run survival of a person mintage & may lead to the spreading of Earth-depending life throughout the galaxy.
A title of a game is taken from either the United Nations Population Fund Day Of 6 Billion (12th October, 1999), which is the day that our spherical individual people officially reached 6 billion. A game was inspired by Marshall Savage's book The Millennial Project: Colonizing the Galaxy in Eight Easy Steps.
